DieCon Silent Charity Auction

Each year your DieCon staff looks to add something new. New games, new dealers or new activities to the event schedule that we have not presented in previous years.

In 2007 we finally felt we had the staffing to host a auction.  A few different formats were discussed before we decided upon a Silent Charity Auction.  Donations were solicted from game companies, onsite vendors and offsite retailers.  The variety, high quality and the quanitity of donated items in the auction and DieCon contribution resulted in $1000 in 2007 for our auction beneficiary; Collinsville Affiliate of the Louis & Clark Chapter of Habitat for Humanity International. 

At DieCon 9, we will once again host a Silent Charity Auction on Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 10:30 am until 1:30pm. Our goal is to increase the auction's results by 10-15% over 2008 results. Our charity is the Collinsville Affiliate of the Louis & Clark Chapter of Habitat for Humanity International. The Collinsville Affiliate has built two homes for families in our community. Our auction will aid the Affiliate to purchase a build-site, to prepare the land, to obtain the materials required, and to build the next home and house another family.
